Argus Seventy-five

I bought this old camera off eBay last fall. I used it to shoot through the top viewfinder with my digital camera and got shots like these:

Jenny's Couch

Fireplace and Mantle

But then I loaded it with real film. This is a medium format camera that takes 620 film. They don't make it anymore, unfortunately, but with a slight modification to 120 film you can load it up. 120 is the kind used in lomography a lot, it makes a nice, big square picture sometimes with vignetting. I really like how they came out and it's exciting to scan the negatives yourself.

Diptych of Tracks

Diptych of Tracks II

I had my hopes up about putting film into the Argus but I knew there was a chance it wouldn't work, being that it's an antique and I bought it off eBay. It's a really solid camera, I could see this thing holding up for a long time and being able to accept some heavy wear and tear. They certainly don't make cameras like this anymore.

These pictures have an interesting quality to them. Very cool. I like the illustrations you're doing as well, keep it up.

After checking out your recent posts, I realized that I need to get back to doing more drawings. With portfolio review and such this past semester, I've gotten away from doing so much drawing and I'm definitely craving it.

Let me know if you hit up art monday at all this summer, I haven't been in awhile but I'd like to go up there asap.

I definitely want to go this summer to art monday again. And I agree that it's important to keep the creative muscles flexed.

Art Mondays at Apache Cafe. They have models for life drawing, but you can just hang out, drink, and look at what people are doing. It's got a really cool vibe.
