So, thanks to their mad illustration skillz on Etsy projects (ahem... go here.) our very own John Milam and friend/blogger/brilliant designer Michelle Villasenor were invited to take part in TOMS' Style Your Sole event at Town Center at Cobb this past Saturday.
(Yours truly tagged along and played paparazzi all day -- one of my most favorite pastimes.)
If you're not familiar with TOMS, they're a fantastic company that donates one pair of shoes to children in need for each pair of their shoes that are sold.
During the Style Your Sole event, people who bought a pair of Toms at Journeys could have their new shoes customized by one of four local artists. (For free!)
The event lasted six hours, but it breezed by in what seemed like two. John and Michelle got to flex their illustration muscles (and play with art supplies--look! Puffy paint!), customers left happy with their one-of-a-kind footwear, I got to hang around a mall for the first time in what felt like ages, and a good time was had by all.
