Wildwood

So we're unabashed Decemberists fans around here. If anyone does storytelling right, it's them. And to say we were thrilled to hear that Colin Meloy and his wife, illustrator Carson Ellis, are opening the Decatur Book Festival on Labor Day weekend is putting it mildly.

The two will be presenting Wildwood, their first foray into children's books. The book is written by Meloy and illustrated by Ellis, and I for one can't wait to get my hands on it. August is simply too long to wait.

Yesterday both of them tweeted about their brand new book trailer, produced by animation studio Laika, the folks behind Coraline. Ellis also tweeted this fun fact:

Incidentally, that's Colin and I reading the voice-over, with my part pitched up a bit eerily.#whaddyathinkmoneygrowsontrees?

I guess even rock stars pinch pennies when it comes to production costs.
